I loved the burning olive oil story (you were lucky!), I'm happy that you are where you belong - if not LA, at least it's the Big Apple (my old stomping ground at your age.... I am originally from northern NJ, so close to NYC) - and I can't wait to follow your future exploits.
On a very different note, please accept my condolences on the loss of your grandmother. Trust that she's watching from above and is so very proud of you.
